Do I even need to say Squid Games? Also I hear that the way to see Dune is in IMAX.
The Rescue
New | Movie | Documentary | In Theaters
From the filmmakers that brought us Free Solo (Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, Jimmy Chin, National Geographic), it is one of the best documentaries I’ve seen this year. I was absolutely riveted. I watched at the TIFF virtual film festival but highly recommend seeing in theaters.

Titane
New | Movie | 😦 | In Theaters
For the mechanophiliacs and francofiles 🇫🇷🚗🥖 French submission for the Academy Awards that is not for the faint of heart or anyone that can’t stomach body horror. I watched much of it through the knitted fabric in my sweater - but I don’t regret it. If you watch at home, you may turn it off.

Maid
New | TV | Netflix| All Episodes Available
Subject line quote is from a scene in episode one that it both gutting and probably extremely helpful for some people to hear.
Any synopsis you read will fall short, as this is not just a story of single mom managing poverty and escaping domestic violence. It’s a sweet, funny, deep, hard-hitting and moving experience of great performances pulling you into a true story of just how hard it can to get out of a bad situation. Right when you think it could tip into melodrama, it turns warm and grounded. Impossible not to empathize.
Also extremely relevant right now to the conversation of paid family leave.

You
New | TV | Netflix| All Episodes Available
If you’re looking for something super easy to binge, Season 3 of YOU is now out. Gossip Girl’s Penn Bagley’s plays a likable serial killer and the settings in season 1 and 2 are both an ode to and a taunt of NYC and LA.

Been lagging on these as I’m behind in the big new releases (STILL haven’t seen Bergman Island or The French Dispatch!!) Still working through and liking Ted Lasso (S2), Scenes from a Marriage, The Premise, and Impeachment.
